Client Request:

“Convert and construct a large empty industrial unit into a Recording Studio and Practice Room facility, achieving best possible soundproofing results within the available space and budget constraints.”

The Project:

Alpha Delta Recording Studios & Practice Rooms

We at The Sound Proofer were approached by our clients in Summer 2019, who were proposing a rather exciting project to convert a large empty industrial unit, in Bristol, into a large Commercial Recording Studio & Multiple Practice Room Facility, for their new business enterprise.

After an initial site inspection, we were able to process their ideas vs the allocated budget, and subsequently began todesign a variety of soundproofing solutions to achieve their goal. Our policy is to offer our clients a variety of three soundproofing solutions.

With any soundproofing project, whether domestic, commercial, industrial, etc..the allocated budget fundamentally determines the expected soundproof performance - as the quality ofsoundproofing materials are reflected in their price. Essentially you get what you pay for, in any Soundproofing project.

After an agreed soundproofing system was chosen, we commenced works very quickly, and project ‘Alpha Delta Studios’ commenced. Our initial proposed schedule of works was six weeks, and we are pleased to say we achieved this build on time, and on budget.

The clients decorated the facility themselves, and even made some rather effective acoustic panels using soundproof foam – which helps to absorb sound effectively in large spaces.

The Result:

The project was a successful one and a pleasure to work on. We enjoyed working with Anna and Danny in delivering a fantastic commercial facility for our clients to begin their new business enterprise, which continues to grow from strength to strength.

    • I asked The Sound Proofer to soundproof two walls in a top floor bedroom that had road noise and poor thermal insulation. Through chatting with Nick I was able ascertain the type of soundproofing needed and was provided a fixed price quote. Communication was excellent and they did exactly what was spec'ed out and agreed, the work started on time and continued until it was finished. I'm very pleased with the work carried out and would say that The Sound Proofer are a very professional outfit.

    • Very professional service. Dowlings inspected the room and recommended Maxiboard - then provided a firm quote which they stuck to and a schedule which they did not run over. The work took a 5 days to do a ceiling and one wall. They took great care to keep mess down to a minimum and left the place as clean and tidy as you could realistically expect. It was expensive but you only get what you pay for. And the good news is it worked. The noise of TVs, voices, phones ringing have all been blocked out. The foot-fall noise from above has been cut to a tolerable level. Good work!

    • I’m very happy with the quality of the work, the finish is fantastic and you’d never be able to tell a whole load of soundproofing materials have been installed above the plastered ceiling. The installers were really friendly, pleasant guys. They were very professional, thorough, and extremely tidy too! Best of all though, the reduction in noise from upstairs has massively exceeded my hopes – what was a constant source of sleep interruption and tired days, is now nothing more than the occasional faint sound. Worth every penny. Thanks again.
