Domestic Bedroom Soundproofing
Sector: Domestic
Location: Saltford
Project: Bedroom and Roof Soundproofing
Client Request:
“To achieve an uninterrupted nights’ sleep by eliminating unwanted road traffic noise”
The Project:
After recently moving into a lovely detached house on the A4 (between Saltford & Bath, UK) our clients discovered that their sleeping patterns were disturbed by significant road noise - penetrating through their roof, and into their bedroom. The noise was so severe they decided to take immediate action, just weeks after moving in.
After an initial home visit, we were able to isolate the problem and design a soundproofing system that would drastically reduce the unwanted traffic noise travelling through the roof, and into the bedroom. Our clients temporarily moved into another room whilst we began stripping back the existing plasterboard + timber stud construction, discarding all existing materials, ready to start again.
Our client chose the NR-2000W/C* option which results in a 112mm reduction in room size using a combination of RW45 Rockwool, dedicated interlocking Soundplank boards (with an additional rubber soundsheild layer) fixed into a maxi resilient bar, offering isolation from the existing timber structure - in which the room is built upon.
*The NR2000 system greatly reduces both general airbourne noise, and produces excellent results inimpact noise reduction.
The Result:
After plastering, painting, re-laying the carpet, and finishing the bedroom…our clients moved back in…and were able to achieve a continual good nights sleep, uninterrupted.
