Location: Southville, Bristol
Project: Southville Primary School Soundproofing
Client Request:
“Find a solution to prevent unintentional noise made by 30+ nursery infants, transferring directly through a narrow hallway wall, into the residential household next door.”
The Project:
Southville Primary School contacted us hoping we could reduce the excessive ambient room noise created in as classroom where 30+ infants learn and play. The airborne noise then travelled into the residential house next door, causing disturbance.
The existing hallway wall was already narrow, and as such we could not implement a typical resilient bar system. We decided upon using a ‘direct fix’ system where a dedicated (heavy duty) Soundproof Acoustic Panel is applied directly to a wall, then plastered, ready for decoration.
The Result:
Together with our clients, we were delighted to hear from the neighbouring family that our Soundproofing installation was effective in reducing the unwanted noise. The next step, when budget is available, is to install Sound Absorbing Panels to the classroom walls, in a bid to reduce echo, and absorb the room noise even further.
